Over 2 million of Treasure Bay’s award-winning We Both Read books are now used in schools throughout the U.S. With alternating pages of higher and lower reading levels, these innovative books are designed for a beginning reader to take turns reading with a parent or tutor. Most schools send the books home for students to read with their parents, however many schools also use the books for in-class and tutored reading. A new series, called Half and Half, also encourages parent involvement. However, this series is more specifically designed to ignite children’s interest in non-fiction. Research has shown that reading a fictional story will ignite interest in non-fiction information on the same subject. Teacher Resources

Treasure Bay has also recently published a teacher resource book, titled Involving Parents in the Children’s Reading Development: A Guide for Teachers. Written by Bruce Johnson, this book and CD set offers teachers a wealth of information on how to maximize their potential for parent involvement.
